Why is this happening to me?

Why is this happening to me? Ahhhhhh!

Most of us have said, cried, screamed this out at least once in our lifetime, have we not? For many it is a regular occurrence. It is certainly something we tend to say when faced with obstacles, challenged in situations. It can feel a lot like beating your head against a brick wall, or wondering why life is such a struggle… On that note, read my new book, Journey to Ease and Grace.

I see a lot of my clients face the same patterns over and over. Another broken relationship, another job, another home, another drama, another crisis. Every time this happens, most of us deal with what is happening right now, using the tools we have to solve problems. This tends to perpetuate more of the same problems. It takes a conscious mind to see the bigger picture.

Have you ever, for example, experienced a toxic relationship and thought someone else will be better for you? So many of my girlfriends complain about unavailable men, abusive men, alcoholics, drug or gambling addicts, men who neglect them, cheat on them and the list continues.

There are others who experience constant instability, going from job to job, home to home, location to location, in a perpetual state of anxiety, as these issues promote the biggest stress statistics. Of course, they cannot imagine it has anything to do with them, in most cases.

Others find themselves in trouble, even with the law and cannot imagine why this may be happening. Or they do something wrong and then complain when they are found accountable. They often blame the people who bring the truth to light. Even worse, they still attempt to get out of it, avoiding responsibility altogether.

Do you see a common denominator here?

What do you think all these examples have in common? They fail to see their own part in the problem. They fail to see where there is a bigger picture, exhibiting a pattern. This is where regret in hindsight can become crippling for us.

Choices have Consequences

When you consider that every thought, word you say, can become your reality, can you imagine just how powerful your decisions and choices are? I cannot stress the importance of conscious thinking enough. So many times I hear “Why is this happening to me?” without any idea of the immense power of creation we hold. There is no blame here. It is most important NEVER TO STRESS. Always be your witness.

As most of us suffer from varying degrees of self worth, grasping the concept that we create our reality may be challenging.

Try this exercise:

1.When something happens, take a moment to think about what contributed to this outcome. What was your part in it?

2.When you make a choice based on a decision, put your strategy hat on and use your forward vision to imagine the outcome of your new choice!

The simple, yet unfamiliar practice of conscious thinking will be your greatest ally.

So, there you have it, wishing you amazing success always!
