When we are young, unless our parents happen to be super entrepreneurs, we are usually conditioned to study hard to become professionals, so that we can join the workforce. Most of us have an image imprinted into our DNA, of a “secure”, cardboard cut out life. Most of us become employees. We do this, so that we can enjoy what life has to offer.

How is it, then, that a staggering percentage of people, up to 85%, hate their jobs and their lives as a by-product?

Our drive to succeed, so that we can enjoy the life we love, can be detrimental to our health. I learnt that the hard way, collapsing and subsequently diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. This condition is common amongst athletes and A type personalities. High Achievers.

There are those of us, who work so hard, for so little. We are up at the crack of dawn, get ready for work, get the kids to school, take public transport, go to work, deal with interpersonal relationships and politics, then get back on public transport to go home, where we have limited time to do everything.

Have you ever watched people travel to and from work on public transport? I looked around and found a general atmosphere of exhaustion and resignation. It is almost as if life has been squeezed out of you. We do all the right things, we work so hard, why is life such a struggle? The fact is, no one can blame us. It is, what I call, the Matrix we live in.

On that note, I recommend, Journey to Ease & Grace

The point is, that whilst we pursue “perceived” security, while we remain working as employees, while we work on someone else’s time, there will always be stress and burnout. Particularly when we don’t do what we love. When, for example, we accept work because it will pay for our lifestyle, rather than work that will feed our soul.

Until you pursue your Purpose and Passion, until you become your own boss, get out of your comfort zone, you will not know Freedom.

Living the Laptop Life

The biggest gift CFS afforded me, was the opportunity to begin to work for myself. In 2019, I took my business online with Areti Goddess Events. I have always been a huge advocate for doing what you love, always following my inspiration for projects. It hasn’t always been easy, particularly as I didn’t give myself any safety nets, like keeping a job, as I started a business. I chose to dedicate myself fully.

Taking my business online, has given me the Laptop Life! Many people tell me, they would hate to work from home all the time. On the other hand, the Pandemic Lockdown situation has changed our work culture. People are now opting for stay at home work, versus a return to the office. In fact, online business has increased exponentially!

What does, living the laptop life mean? For starters, where you have a laptop, you can travel! You can be in the library, on the beach, in a cafe, on an island, anywhere! It gives you freedom! These days, you don’t even need to have your own products or services to work online. The image above, is from my recent holiday at the Whitsundays. As we were there, Covid began to strike and my first thought was, I have my laptop, I wouldn’t mind being stuck in this Paradise!

You can be your own boss. You can work in your time, at your pace, in your preferred space. The stress of racing against the clock, working for the man, is eliminated. You can simply enjoy doing what you love on your laptop.

Of course, given our conditioning, it does take a decision to change your life. It takes a leap of faith, outside your comfort zone and that’s where the magic of life is. So if you would love to get your mojo back, I highly recommend it, especially in the new Era.

If you don’t think you have the confidence to do it, or the knowledge to do it, I recommend the Areti Goddess Online Program. It will give you the whole package to start your business to live the life you Love. Know, that you have everything you need to do anything you put your mind to!

I hope that empowers you today!
