There is no doubt that us humans latch onto the negative. It is not our fault, it is just the way we are built. That is why, when faced with positive solutions, we don’t often recognise them, or take them on board. We are fascinated by notoriety, drama, we love to complain, just look at Social Media, or Online Reviews…
On the subject of not recognising positive solutions, I remember reactions I received on many occasions. Blank reactions. Two that stand out are, the Global humanitarian project I led, focussed on Solutions and running for the Seat of Sydney Federal Election 2016, representing Online Direct Democracy, the people! When it is not registered in our DNA, we simply can’t see it.
When I worked as an Actor in Theatre, Reviews were anxiously awaited. We would be elated when reviews on shows were good, and equally destroyed reading bad reviews. Just like reviews can determine the success or failure of a production, they can also determine the success or failure of your Business. This is especially vital when you are starting out in Business. A bad review can ruin it.
Along those lines, we have the Haters. Haters spend their time spewing vitriol, any way they can. They are the naysayers, people who rain on your parade, people dedicated to dimming your amazing Light. They troll Social Media, commenting on posts, or love to provide negative “feedback” on goods and services they buy. The number of Haters increases with more success and fame, in your journey. So, if you’re a Superstar, watch out for those Haters, here they come!
When people tear others down, they do it, so that they can feel better about themselves. It comes down, once again, to Self-Worth. When people behave badly, they are undoubtedly, in pain. For instance, whenever you get so angry you start screaming, you are, in effect, abandoning yourself… In the early stages of success, hurtful comments or reviews can really upset us. We may receive amazing testimonials from clients, it takes one or two bad reviews however, to send us spinning, because that is what we latch onto. So how can we possibly Love our Haters?
