What is the Ceiling Pandemic?

Thinking this may be another strain of the Virus we have been suffering?

Why should you break through it?

The Ceiling Pandemic is an invisible global disease, I have chosen to name “ceiling pandemic”. Have you every heard of the Glass Ceiling?

From frontiersin.org

The Glass Ceiling

Glass ceiling refers to the fact that a qualified person wishing to advance within the hierarchy of his/her organisation is stopped at a lower level due to a discrimination most often based on sexism or racism. The glass ceiling refers thus to vertical discrimination most frequently against women in companies.

The Ceiling Pandemic is, in a sense, of parallel meaning here. It refers to the invisible, subconscious drivers within. These drivers are established very early in life. They keep validating our need for them and run our behaviour even if they stop us from having what we really really want! In Psychology this is known as a Secondary Game.

So, you may be brilliant at setting Goals. You may work toward your Big Game, your Big Goals, doing all the right things. If your program keeps running in the background, with beliefs to the contrary however, it will NEVER HAPPEN.

Then, you wonder why! Who can blame you? You can think of it like a virus running in the background, on your computer. Your computer will never run to its full capacity.

Why is this a Global Ceiling Pandemic?

Imagine you plan a trip somewhere exotic, you have always wanted to visit. The tickets are booked, the passports are ready, you have finished all the packing and made all the necessary arrangements. Finally, a holiday! Excited, you launch on your journey away! Then, something happens to stop you getting there. It could be that your drivers have never been there and have stopped at their limit. You don’t have an experience of that place. It is unknown and you may have programming to keep you safe, against the unknown.

We call this Self-Sabotage!

We see it happen a lot in relationships for instance. When someone has experienced a lot of abandonment or betrayal in the past, and is faced with loyalty, honesty, healthy love, a couple of things happen… They will push the relationship away as much as they can, because they simply “don’t believe it” or, enter into it and sabotage it somehow to prove their past experience. Then they can say, “see I was right”. It is turning everything beautiful into the ugly story you know.

It is heartbreaking to see clients go through this time and time again.

Everyone has their own ceiling, that is why this is a global pandemic. Everyone stops short of their best life, if they don’t clear the decks, so to speak. Think of it as you would if you were banging your head against a brick wall. It is not your fault, you just don’t know! When we don’t know something, we simply do not recognise it.

Here are a couple of examples…

In years past, I led a team of volunteers on a global humanitarian project focussed on solutions, empowering people in Africa. This project was dedicated to the UNMP, established to at least halve poverty and suffering by 2015. 189 Countries signed up for it. It was to build “Millennium Villages”.

Our project was dedicated to the UNMP. Utilising our own resources, our mission was to produce a globally simulcast TV Show, enticing the world to donate the price of a drink to end poverty once and for all. We needed two vital pieces to come together: UN Endorsement and a TV Deal.

This created a chicken and egg situation. We couldn’t get a TV deal without UN endorsement and the UN only provided us with “lip service”. Further, promoting it on Social Media, we found that people in general, focussed on problems, did not register a solution like this.

The most profound message came from TV Production Companies… this has never been done before, come back with Millions of $ and we will make it, this concept is not Commercial enough for the Networks and so on…

Years later, my dream is coming true with the #G100 GLOBAL WOMEN’S EMPOWERMENT SUMMIT

I also got to Sponsor a group of women in Harare, Zimbabwe last year!

In 2016 I was roped into running for the Seat of Sydney Federal Election.

Here was a small party, taking politics online for the first time, publishing every Bill and offering it up for the public vote, representing people’s majority! True Democracy I thought. So, off I went, doing the work of a team, due to lack of funding. Here was a true solution, once again however, it didn’t register with people! Their eyes would literally glaze over with the concept!

There is no doubt that we can miss out on so much this way!

How to Break through the Ceiling Pandemic!

It takes a little work to find out what your limits are! The best way to break through your own ceiling is to imagine how far you can go, in any given area.

You will find, for instance, that goals you set are usually to solve a problem…That is an example of “what we know”. The beauty is in what we don’t know!

Look forward rather than staying in your past experiences. If you can’t believe something you want can happen for you, use someone else as an example. If it can happen for them, it can happen for you too.

Focus on Solutions rather than problems. What you place your attention on will grow! If you are aware of the law of Opposites, you will know that every problem will have a solution, every obstacle a silver lining.

Learning what your limiting beliefs are and releasing them, is really the best way to set Goals, based on the theory that ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE, because it is, it’s all about your imagination! If you can imagine it, you can certainly have it.

That is why, most successful people will say, get out of your comfort zone!
