SPOILER ALERT PLOT WILL BE EXPOSED

Did you have any idea about the extent of Marilyn’s suffering? I watched #Blonde last night. I have to say, Ana de Armas depicts Marilyn brilliantly, well done, I am sure her future in acting will be very bright. A great cast and a film I would recommend. I, for one, knew a little about Marilyn’s life. Watching it in this film, with the knowledge and experience I have now, I became passionate about sharing my findings.

Marilyn was abused and abandoned by her sole parent, her mentally ill mother as a child. She also witnessed her home on fire and her mother closing the door on her embodiment of shame, throwing her out of her life. Her father was an image on a wall. An image she spoke with and implored to save her, for her entire life. This is how her life began.

When she attended her first audition, she was raped. In her innocence, she was bewildered as much as she was traumatised. Her experience of abuse and abandonment had already created a pattern she would repeat throughout her journey. Robbed of Self-worth, boundaries, she was also already living outside her body. Abuse is a common cause for this. Marilyn was already lost.

Winning a contract with a studio, she began modelling and acting. That is when Marilyn Monroe was created and her disassociation became…
