Does it Pay to be Attractive in Business?

Watching Asian productions on Netflix, particularly Korean shows, good looks are valued almost as much as riches. This prompted my curiosity about whether it actually pays to be attractive.

As an Actor in what now seems to be my previous life, I learned that I was the product and as such, it was imperative that I was in great shape, physically and mentally. When it came to auditions, impressions were made in the first couple of minutes. When I consider this now, I see how it applies to branding, when people communicate lifestyles they are selling for instance. This is evident in social media every day.

There is no doubt that attractive people open doors. Attractiveness however, also emanates from within. Our energy, our vibration, our soul, smile from within. That is why, confidence is sexy. Further, the world is our mirror. We create the world around us as much as we attract it.

Hence yes, it often pays to be attractive in business, although the extent to which physical attractiveness influences success can vary depending on the industry, culture, and specific context. Research has shown that attractive individuals may receive certain advantages in the business world, including:
