In many ways, when you embark on a journey with your own business, it is best to do what you love. Then, when the going gets tough, at least it doesn’t feel like work! To demonstrate a few things to watch out for, I am sharing some of my own journey as an entrepreneur.
I have always followed my inspiration, which, after a lifetime as an actor, TV presenter, film maker, led to empowering women. Luckily I had spent a lifetime and fortune on personal growth, becoming a mentor and coach in the process.
At first, I wondered why I was guided to focus on women alone. I started doing research and discovered why. When I realised the extent of the crisis women are in in Australia and the rest of the world, I was shocked. I recalled being impassioned about women in Africa, as I studied African Politics at Uni.
Suddenly, I saw myself on stage, in front of thousands of women, empowering them! Their gratitude was overwhelming.
This was enough to propel me into action. Combining the best personal/spiritual growth tools and my professional experience, including the corporate arena, I created a Program.
Next, I invested Everything I had to launch it, including my own retirement funds, knowing the need. I launched my first company at the age of 52.
I knew nothing about business. It was a huge learning curve including coaches, courses, seminars, networking events, I was there!
